Career Counselling

My approach

Making a career decision is difficult, whether you’re deciding what to study or whether you would like to make a career change.  Making poor career choices can cost you precious time and money. I can help you make the best career decision for your future by:

  • Helping you understand your own unique personality, skills and interests
  • Helping you understand your strengths and limitations regarding your career options
  • Reviewing your career and study expectations
  • Providing up to date information regarding tertiary institutions and available qualifications, job trends and organisational requirements/ offerings

My approach to career counselling involves:

  • Advanced psychometric assessment of your personality, interests, skills and career orientation (this takes 4-5 hours to administer)
  • An in depth one-on-one interview with you regarding your career aspirations, interests, achievements and values (this takes approximately 1 hour)
  • Analysis of psychometric results and information obtained from your in-depth interview to identify a series of potential career options for you and corresponding study options
  • Feedback session with you to discuss your  career and study options and career development plan (approximately 1 hour)

Fees

Most often, medical aid schemes will cover the cost of career counselling up to a certain annual limit. Contact your medical aid to ascertain what your annual allowance is for counselling. If you are not a member of a medical aid scheme, you can still access career counselling by paying for it personally. The costs of counselling are also tax-deductible. A 50% deposit needs to be paid before the psychometric assessment session is done (cash or EFT, with proof of payment sent through to me).  I provide statements to enable you to claim back from your medical aid scheme. The fee for full career assessments, results analyses and feedback is R2600.00.
